How we estimate the cost of a person
Hours per month are our estimate of the time a person spends on the same job at a brand doing roughly $2M to $25M a year. Hourly rates are U.S. national median wages from the BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2025, grossed up for benefits. Wages are 70.0% of total employer compensation according to BLS Employer Costs for Employee Compensation, June 2026. Figures exclude recruiting, management time and turnover, so the real cost of a person is usually higher.
